Welcome to the sensational Tamar Valley with its central city of Launceston together with the East Tamar and West Tamar communities, connected by the awesome Batman Bridge. Central to the area is the tranquil Tamar River, one of the longest navigable estuarine rivers in Australia with a European history going back to the early 1800s. The Tamar Valley connects with the Pipers River area on the East  and the lovely community of Lilydale, with the Meander Valley on the West and the Northern Midlands to the south; you can explore for days!
